Frank Altag appointed COO of BA CT
From January 2018 Frank Altag will be Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Components Technology business area (BA CT). This is a newly created position at BA level. As COO Frank Altag reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of BA CT, Dr. Karsten Kroos. Frank Altag will combine this new function with his current role as CEO of the Camshafts business unit until further notice. The process of finding a successor for the management position will begin in the new calendar year.
The introduction of the COO function is aimed at increasing transparency into operating processes across all Components Technology business units and driving their standardization. In addition, investments in work equipment and process infrastructure are to be managed in a more uniform way in the future and better use made of the operating know-how in the BA. For this reason the COOs of the business units will report directly to Frank Altag in the future.
Frank Altag began his career at thyssenkrupp in 1999 as head of the camshafts plant in Ilsenburg and from 2000 was responsible for the expansion and operation of the production facility in Saxony-Anhalt as Chief Technical Officer.
