Goovi® and variopactor® rock new gravel plant

Historic firm Meichle + Mohr places order with thyssenkrupp for construction of a complete gravel processing plant in southern Germany. Start-up planned for summer 2021.

“Rooted in history – working for the future” – this is how family company Meichle + Mohr with over 300 employees describes itself. Well-known throughout the south of Germany, the company has placed an order with thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions to build a complete plant for processing gravel into high-quality end products in Reiselfingen, Baden-Württemberg.

“Among other things, the plant is to produce high-quality, DIN-certified washed sand and gravel materials for use as aggregates in the concrete industry,” says Matthias Paetz, Head of Sales Crushing Technology in the Mineral Processing – Crushing Technology unit at the Münsterland site.

The order encompasses the entire spectrum of EPC services from basic and detailed engineering to the supply of all the machinery including structural steelwork and the turnkey construction and commissioning of the plant. A total of 28 belt conveyors, seven screening units and one impact crusher will be used, including the newly developed screen “Goovi®” and the reversible impact crusher variopactor®.

The Goovi® screen – smart, compact, versatile

The Goovi® is more compact, lighter and more versatile than conventional screening machines. It also consumes significantly less energy. That’s thanks to the Goovi®’s special control system, which allows all the functions of conventional screen types to be combined in a single machine. Particularly with difficult-to-screen materials and changing applications, the Goovi® delivers optimum results. Matthias Paetz: “Even setting up the Goovi® we’re very flexible – we don’t need heavy-duty cranes and can easily adapt to local conditions.”

The variopactor® impact crusher – modular design, minimum downtime

variopactor® is the name of the newly developed reversible impact crusher from thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions. The name was chosen deliberately: The modular design of the variopactor® allows it to be easily adapted to a wide variety of applications. At the same time it delivers products of consistent quality with significantly reduced downtime for maintenance. “The variopactor® meets the main requirements of our customers for consistent product quality and cost-efficient production with low maintenance downtime,” says Armin Greune, Head of Standard Machines in the Mining Technology business unit of thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions.

Construction of the gravel plant in Reiselfingen is scheduled to begin in spring 2021. Start-up is planned for summer 2021.
