Two become one: we.connect and we.net are merged

On 30 September 2020 we.connect will be switched off. Important and popular functionalities that facilitate exchange and cooperation will be transferred from we.connect to we.net. Thus, the hitherto static we.net will be extended and additionally enriched by so-called social features. The technical platform of the we.net allows a much easier and more intuitive work within communities and for the respective editors. In addition, the merging of the two platforms brings considerable cost advantages for MX.

Microsoft Office 365 is rolled out

In recent weeks and months, Microsoft Teams has provided Materials Services with a technical solution that has enabled many employees to collaborate with colleagues and exchange information with partners and customers despite Corona-related restrictions, regardless of time and space. This platform for chats and conferences is just one of several central services in the new Microsoft Office 365 package, which will be rolled out successively until the end of the fiscal year 2021/22.

we2go will be further developed in the future

The employee app we2go will of course be retained and will be expanded with additional functions in the future. By downloading we2go onto their own smartphones, all employees of Materials Services will always be kept up to date.

What's next?

  • In the next step, a project team comprising IT and communications will be formed to act as a point of contact for the process. The team will manage the rollout and provide communication and training materials.

  • All owners of a community on we.connect will be contacted in the next few weeks. If you are an owner of such a community, please consider already today how you would like to deal with existing content from October 1 onwards. Would you like to transfer the community to a new platform? Is this the right time to clean up? Is the community really still active? The project team will provide advice in this process.

We will keep you informed about the further process. If you have any current questions, please send an e-mail to materials.services.communications@thyssenkrupp.com.
